NeuShield Data Sentinel is updated periodically with new features and enhancements. However, it doesn’t need to be updated to recover your files. This allows you to stay protected from the latest threats without constant updating. an answer to this item.

The NeuShield portal provides a centralized view for all devices protected by Data Sentinel and allows you to activate or remove Home or Business edition features.

To remove a device from your account, sign into the NeuShield portal, locate the device on the 'My Protected Devices' tab, and remove it from your account on the 'Subscription' tab. That device will be reset back to the Free edition the next time it checks in.

Pause commit cycle:

  1. Log into the portal.
  2. Find the client that was infected with ransomware and go to the “Device Details” page by clicking on the client.
  3. From the Device Details page click the “Restore / Revert” button.
  4. Then select the “Control Overlay” option and follow the steps to suspend the commit overlays.
  5. Note: don’t forget to resume the commit overlays after the ransomware incident is over and all the files have been recovered.

Overview

Google Drive has multiple editions and each edition has a different level of support.  There are three main Google Drive editions:

  1. For individuals
  2. For team
  3. For enterprise

For individuals

Google Drive for individuals works and is fully supported by NeuShield.  This edition is also referred to as “Backup and Sync from Google”.

For Team and For Enterprise

On for team and for enterprise editions of Google Drive, depending on how you install the product, it may sync the data to a FAT32 virtual drive.  If you are paying for Google Drive then it is likely you are using a version of Google Drive that uses a FAT32 virtual drive.  FAT32 volumes have no security of any kind so it is generally not a good choice for storing any important data on.  In addition, NeuShield only supports NTFS volumes, so FAT32 volumes are not supported.

However, there is a solution to this. During the Google Drive install when asked about syncing options if you chose "Mirror files" then it will mirror files into a folder on your local computer and NeuShield can protect that folder.

After this, you will see a confirmation that the Google Drive will be cached to your local drive.

When Google Drive is setup this way it will still create a drive letter, usually G:, that is setup using FAT32.  This volume is a virtual volume and may show "My Drive“ and "Other Computers“.  The root level of this volume is not a local instance.  However, if you click on "My Drive“ then is should lead to the local folder structure.  The content of this folder is shared and mirrored between all devices running Google Drive app.  NeuShield is able to protect all data under this folder.

The expiration date of your subscription period is based on your license agreement, which can be a pre-determined date, or a future date extended to your existing subscription period. You can see the expiration date by logging on to your NeuShield account and navigating to the 'My Account' tab.
